The episode hours follow the schema Joyce lent Stuart Gilbert. The morning is told twice, Stephen's three episodes and Bloom's three at the same hours, so the clock splits each morning slot between the two strands, Stephen first. Penelope has no hour in the schema; here she keeps the small hours until eight.
